Raw foodism - Opinions, anyone? & thinspo, of course :)

June 21 Weigh-in:

Weight: 121.8
BMI: 18.5

I find constantly counting calories and measuring everything out every day to be a nuisance. I've been reading up on and learning a lot about raw foodism lately. Supposedly it is not only a great diet for attaining and maintaining a low weight, but it also is incredibly healthy. I've decided to eat a raw food diet the majority of the time. I'm the kind of person who HAS to splurge every now and then, so a 100% commitment to raw foodism will not be possible for me. What's the point of being skinny if you can't live a little? :) Or simply enjoy your favorite foods every now and then? That's what I think, anyway.

So, do any of you have any experience with raw foodism? What are your opinions of it? Just curious :)

Think thin!

  1. I have never heard of raw foodism. I just googled it and I'm not sure how I would do with raw milk and eggs. But if you think you can do it, you should! At least give it a try and if you like it, go for it!

  2. I went to a raw food place in new york last week and it was AMAZING! I've decided to try becoming a raw food vegan when I'm out of school and have my own place, so that I prepare all of my own meals.

Anyway, I say, go fo it! :)

  3. I've heard of it but I don't know much about it. But if it sounds good to you, you should try it. You might really like it.

  4. The only thing I can say about raw foodism is, "More power to you!"
I do not think I could ever do it, haha.
But you should try it if it sounds good to you; I would love to see how that sort of diet works and see the results of it. :)
I hope you have an amazing day today; you deserve it!
    Stay positive, stay beautiful! <3

  5. my aunt eats only raw foods and shes like incredibly healthy and fit, I think if calorie counting isn't for you then raw foods is a really good alternative.

  6. I've heard mixed things about a raw food diet, and I don't think going 100% raw is the way. Definitely increasing raw food intake would help lose weight as you will feel fuller but some foods need some cooking so you can take advantage of the nutrients e.g. the anticarcinogenic lycopenes in tomatoes are much better absorbed from cooked or canned and kidney beans are poisonous raw.

I'd say give it go and see how you feel with it. I am already a vegan and I couldn't go without cooked meals, but I do try to go with as low processed as possible.

I have a tip on a raw vegan snack bar - Nakd and Trek bars, by Natural Balance, they are truly fabulous!

    Love AJ xx

  7. I love eating raw and try to eat at least half my fruit and veg raw. In summer its much easier than winter but raw veg will fill you up faster with less calories and because of the increased water & nutrient absorption your skin looks wonderful. The only thing you need to watch is under eating- make sure you include nuts and seeds and juiced to get enough of the good stuff! xxx

  8. I've never done raw foods, sounds interesting though! I mean I DO prefer my veggies and fruits raw. and where I live, people eat raw beef on a regular basis, not to mention unpasteurized cheese (my grandma makes it herself in fact)

but I try to avoid these, I eat raw beef as little as possible, and completely removed cheese off of my diet (who needs these extra cals anyways?)
plus raw meats and dairy carry diseases like a bitch. Already got enough sickness in my life, so no to that either. xP

and LOVELY thinspo! my favorite is the 2nd one(:

  9. Amazing...there is tons of recipes that taste even better than regular food...try to see if is for you thou...is not for everyone..im not a meet lover so is pretty easy for me..
Yeap i started doing it...cause im so afraid of gaining weight... Rather whatever else but not fat..
